On The Value Of Totems

When I spoke at a school last week, one of the teachers asked about my totems. I told her they are reminders to help keep me on my path.

The Hero – to try to do what is right and help everyone I am able;

Infinity – to be patient in all things that matter most;

Love – to support all those whom I care about most as they walk their own path;

Dream – to continue to believe that wonderful things are possible;

and Arête, excellence in the fulfillment of my purpose – which is to make sure that those who need to find miracles in their lives know magic is real, and worth looking for, and that with belief and effort, an extraordinary life is possible.

That’s my path. It’s why I’m here, and why you know me. And I have your hand, and I will not let you fall.
