The True Measure
The true measure of a leader can be determined not by counting the number of followers they have, but by counting the number of people they serve.
The true worth of a leader can be measured by counting the number of people they serve who can do little or nothing for them in return.
And the true greatness of a leader can be measured by counting the number of choices they make which honor their ideals, their values, and those of the people whom they serve even when it means those choices must be made in the face of opposition, ridicule, and personal loss.
That is authenticity; that is true authority; and those choices shape the only kind of leader truly worth following.
