A Second Meditation
Because it seemed necessary, today, with so many people trying to process the events in Boston, and others, seemingly everywhere, trying their best to work through either difficult circumstances now, or the memory of tragedies past.
Sometimes the reasons events like this occur cannot be known; and often if known, cannot be understood. The one thing that stands out to me as worth noting, sharing, and emulating is this: when tragedies happen because of the terrible choices some people have made, heroes still rise. People still respond in heroic ways. People still choose to run towards the chaos, with no regard for themselves, to help complete strangers.
In this world, people still choose to cause tragic events to happen — and in this same world, people still choose to rise above it, and reach out to those in need, and make sure they will not fall. In the past day, that’s the Signal that stands out strongest to me.
