Everyone has within them the desire to do remarkable, extraordinary things. Few choose to do them; and those who don’t all have reasons that doing those great things were impossible. But impossible is only a word — and if you can name your obstacles, name your fears, then you can overcome them. I tell people that anything is possible, and in many cases, someone’s first reaction is to try to disprove that by citing impossible scenarios, to which I respond that anything is possible, with the proper preparation and willingness to put in the time an effort to achieve whatever it is they want to achieve. That’s where most people hit their stumbling block: they don’t want to know anything is possible; they want to know it’s possible, and easy. That’s not how it works, and if that’s upsetting or frustrating to you, then no other anecdotes or platitudes are going to help you. Everything worthwhile in life takes effort; everything exceptional in life takes exceptional effort; and to achieve something iconic and legendary takes paying a price few others are willing to pay, but why not try? You are going to live anyway. You have to work for things anyway. Time will pass anyway. Why not decide to use all of that in pursuit of your goals and dreams?
