During those times when I have struggled the most, and most needed that outstretched hand or a few simple words from someone who may not have realized how badly they were needed, I have found my footing and restored calm to my core by deliberately being that person for someone else — sometimes just one person; sometimes, for as many as I can reach.

For all those whom I love. For those who call me friend and mentor. For my colleagues and peers and fellow travelers. For my children. For everyone who is looking to find a reason to lift your head up a bit higher, stand a little straighter, and take another step on your path.
